Lamb of God Frontman Randy Blythe Arrested in Prague For Alleged Manslaughter

Looks pretty harmless to me.

I'm not a huge Lamb of God fan, but this news seems big enough to warrant a post from yours truly. Yesterday, singer Randy Blythe was arrested in Prague, Czech Republic, on charges of manslaughter after a May 24, 2010 concert. Several reports state that a man jumped up on stage during the concert which led to physical altercations with him and Blythe, resulting in the man becoming injured. The man later succumbed to his injuries and died. Blythe is currently being held in a Chzech prison and could face 5 to 10 years in prison. Bummer.

Lamb of God's management has announced that they will release an official statement on Monday and that the the case is currently in the "investigation stages". Here's what management had to say, with some tidbits about what really went down during the show:

"Lamb of God management will be issuing an official statement on Monday regarding the charges made against singer Randy Blythe. As no formal charges have yet been made and the case is only in the investigation stages, it would be premature to make an official statement filled with false truths or innuendos."

"Having said that, management wished to address today one false piece of information that has been included in many of the news stories released so far. Under no circumstances was there a fight of any kind involved. This incident deals with a fan that three times during the concert jumped the barricade and rushed Randy during the performance. It is alleged that the third time, security was not able to reach him and that Randy pushed him back into the audience where supposedly he fell and hit his head."

"Again, until the investigation is concluded this weekend, nothing more will be released, but clarity and the facts needed to be addressed on this one reported point which is totally inaccurate."
Now, I'm not a lawyer (I just play one on TV), but I'm pretty sure there's a big difference between defending yourself which inadvertently resulted in a person experiencing fatal injuries and MANSLAUGHTER! Also, shouldn't security have thrown him out after the first time he rushed the stage!? I don't know what concert edicate is like in the Czech Republic, but if you can be charged with manslaughter for just shoving a guy off the stage, I probably wouldn't want my band to tour there.

I think its safe to assume that Mr. Blythe will be let off since this accusation seems pretty ridiculous. Still, we all hope he will be released soon and that nothing serious will come of this.
