Rumors began surfacing a few months ago that Metallica was working on a 3D movie. Well, guess what? It's totally happening now! Who didn't see that coming!?
According to the band's official webzone, the movie-type film is in early stages of production and will be released in 2013. It was announced as part of the rumors that Metallica hired Charlotte Huggins (great name, by the way) to work on the project, whose previous works include "Journey to the Center of the Earth" and "Journey 2: Electric Boogaloo The Mysterious Island".
There are currently no indications as to whether this film will be a 3D concert a la that U2 3D movie or if it will be something entirely different. My guess is that it will be called "Metavatar" and will be about how the indigenous Metallica members must fight off the evil Napster employees from destroying their planet. Also, Lou Reed will play the giant tree.
Can't wait to see Lars in a blue suit with a tail.......
